For this broadcast we discussed how The Federal Trade Commission updated its policy for the first time in nearly three decades in an attempt to make the commercial interests of blogs and bloggers more transparent. Since social media has become such an important influence in how we judge brands and products, it is important to be able to distinguish the difference between authentic and promotional content. But where should the line be drawn? We also tackled how people prepare–or more likely fail to prepare–for their “digital afterlife” and how social media is making cities safer.
