PJA’s Mike O’Toole talks social media with Boston Business Journal

In recent months PJA Advertising and Marketing has hired a social media analyst and a new head of the digital practice — who came with a deep social media background. And in August, the Cambridge-based agency launched an Internet radio show called “This week in social media,” which currently has an average of 7,000 live listeners.

PJA president Mike O’Toole notes that the shop has won six pieces of business that focus mainly on social media strategies, which the agency likely would not have won if it hadn’t already developed a deep social media practice. Still, O’Toole emphasizes his agency, which has about 60 employees, focuses on both social media and digital.

“Social media has been an important business driver for us, but it’s not just about social media,” said O’Toole.
